Scientifically known as the Galeocerdo cuvier, these apex predators can range anywhere between 10 to 14 feet and weigh between 850 to 1,400 pounds. Divers need to remember to always be respectful of the sharks and if divers do decide to dive the tiger sharks or any other sharks, to dive with professionally trained shark safety divers.

2. Can I dive with tiger sharks if I do not have scuba diving experience?

No, you will not be able to dive with tiger sharks if you do not have scuba diving experience and are not a certified diver. Divers need to be a minimum Open Water certified to dive with tiger sharks.

No, we do not hand feed tiger sharks in Fuvahmulah when going for Maldives shark dives.
